Unreal Engine
During me tenure at Star Fort we used Unreal Engine 5. During that time I applied my previous experience with Unreal Engine 4 and learned a great deal of functionality with Unreal 5.
Unreal has been the engine I have professionally used the most and I would consider myself very adept with its functionality. Portfolio pieces below are from student projects developed in UE4 and were the first steps in me becoming as familiar with Unreal as I am today.
Examples of work while at Star Fort using Unreal includes:
-
Utilizing blueprint scripting to create level functionality.
-
Using sublevels to create level scenarios.
-
Editing models for optimization, layout work and blueprint requirements.
-
Prototyping gameplay features and A.I functionality such as navmesh.
-
Cohesively detailing and lighting environments.
-
Assigning behaviour patterns and level functionality to characters and environment pieces.
Explorers Room
This Diorama was created for learning 3D modelling and how to use Unreal Engine to create visually appealing scenes.
Using lighting and Effects available within Unreal I was able to create a visually pleasing scene to display my 3D models.
Blueprint Implementation
This was a project I used to learn scripting and blueprint functions within the Unreal Engine. It is a basic game where the players objective is to reach the end goal while avoiding cameras.
I implemented all the basic mechanics for the player such as health, movement and camera controls as well as the level mechanics with areas that cause slowing effects and camera sights dealing damage.
